2006 Ebony Gretsch Billy-Bo Jupiter Thunderbird w/OHSC!
Rare Factory Color Sample! Black Magic TV Jones VooDoo!

According to the serial number this ultra-rare Ebony Billy-Bo Jupiter Thunderbird was built in Japan in January, 2006 and was the first guitar made that month and year! Overall it is in outstanding original condition and the protective plastic is still on the rear cover plates. It has been very lightly played (how could you not play it?), perhaps some token fret wear. There are no blemishes apparent in the glossy Ebony top or natural mahogany back, neck and sides, maybe a superficial scratch on back from handling. The production model you usually see has a Firebird Red top with Black back, neck and sides and black pickguard. All the hardware is chrome-plated, the camera flash makes it look gold. All controls and electronics work smoothly and the sound is pure evil. The neck pickup is a TV Jones Power'Tron and the bridge pickup is a TV Jones Power'Tron Plus and together they can raise the dead. Unplugged this guitar has some buzz and rattle, maybe a fret or two are high? Plugged in, however, it cuts through a blues shuffle like a buzzsaw and it bites like a rattlesnake. Seriously, there isn't much, if any, transfer to the amplifier. The fitted Gretsch hardshell case is in excellent condition.

The Ebony Jupiter Thunderbird has a heavily chambered mahogany body with an ultra-thin laminate maple top and one-piece mahogany neck. Features include multi-bound top, bound 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with thumbnail inlay, pinned Adjusto-matic bridge with rosewood base, three-per-side Grover Sta-tite tuners, silver plexi pickguard with mounted master volume control, "G"-cutout tailpiece, chrome-plated hardware, bound headstock with Gretsch "T"-roof logo inlay, strap-lock buttons, individual volume controls, and master tone control. ZZ Top's Billy F Gibbons and Bo Diddley joined forces to design this "science project gone wrong", introduced by Gretsch in the Summer of 2005. Bo contributed the guitar's futuristic design and Billy added a steaming hot helping of dirty rock 'n' roll to produce what quickly became Billy's main stage axe. The sloped body on the treble-side allows easy access to the upper frets, and the dual TV Jones Power'Tron pickups sound otherwordly.
